Autumn in Amsterdam

Oh Amsterdam. Of all the cities in the world I keep coming back to you. And I definitely do just that because this blog has seen quite a few posts about The Netherlands officially one of my favourite countries in the whole entire world.

It makes me a little sad that once upon a time I used to share all my travels here but with time running away from me all too often these days I just forget. Moreover, the blogging and vlogging world started to consume me somewhat last year and so earlier this year I created an Instagram for my adventures as it is, as the name suggests, just so 'instant' and easy to share moments. Of course there is a lot of controversy around Instagram in the blogosphere but for me just starting this as fun I'm loving the creativity of sharing my travels with you all. I'd love it if you popped over and said hi! It's so nice being able to get to know so many of you personally outside of my business Beauxoxo (but for my business adventures you can find me right here).
And so what is it that makes Amsterdam just so very special? Well its the luxurious canal houses that nestle against the charming gabled facades over a maze of criss-crossing canals with a plethora of picturesque bridges adding to its lovely cityscape for one.
And it's the exceptionally charming buildings in the city centre with blooming flower boxes that create the prettiest backdrop imaginable. Amsterdam feels like a fairytale from start to finish.

To see everything this city has to offer the best way is simply to explore. Take in the beauty of the canals with a cruise, and soak up the architecture and feel the buzz of the city by wandering around the streets and seeing what hidden secrets you can find. I guarantee that by the end, you'll have fallen in love with Amsterdam as much as I have over the years.
And my top picks? Well that's so hard to say because it really depends on what sort of things you like to do. Anne Frank's house is incredibly emotional but so important to see, for art the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum are equally spectacular.

For shopping I adore the nine streets, with its charming intertwining streets full of gems and The Darling being one of them. The Foodhallen is also incredible for handmade treasures.

For food Bagels and Beans has my heart always but if you fancy something extra fancy, Gs brunch boat is such a gezellig (the Dutch word for cosy!) experience. I'm also a huge fan of Pluk, a super Instagram friendly spot that has Unicorn acai bowls (yes, really it's a thing, an amazing thing!) and the best matcha lattes ever. They also sell the cutest merchandise range that makes this spot a must visit in my book. Finally, for my vegan readers, I recently enjoyed a truly unique meal at Mediamatic and highly, highly recommend this incredible place!
So until December Amsterdam, my sweet love, tot ziens and thank you for always greeting me the warmest, most familiar, gezellig hug. Ik hou van je always.

For previous posts from my favourite city check out the archives right here and don't forgot to come over to my personal Instagram and say hello!

How many of you are equally head over heels in love with Amsterdam? Or if you have yet to visit, is it somewhere you'd like to go soon?
