For a long time now I’ve been planning a collection for my fellow beauty loving babes. And so, a good year or so ago now, I made up a flannel bow headband for when I do my make up or apply my skincare. I started to get a lot of comments from friends saying they wanted one as well, and so, the ‘Boudoir Bow Headband’, as I’ve coined them, were born!
The Pink shade was the one I made for myself all that time ago, but I’ve now managed to find a White, Cream, Baby Blue, Tan and Black flannel fabric to make them suit every possible skin tone or hair colour. To make them extra glamorous I’ve added a lace trim all the way around the bow.
My inspiration was most definitely the 1950s and 1960s. A little bit old Hollywood Glamour mixed with the sweetness of Doris Day. And so for the actual photoshoot itself I wanted to combine those inspirations.
With thanks to Amber Kat Studios in Liverpool the end result was captured beyond my wildest dreams! Their studio was the perfect base for what I wanted to capture. Make up wise Lucy, my make up and hair stylist, went with a dramatic cat eyeliner flick for that Hollywood feel but played it up with some pastel eyeshadow to incorporate the fun 60s style.
As well as the Boudoir Bow Headbands I also have the same material in a turban design for those of you that aren't bow fans. It's okay, I can forgive you, sort of ;).
I have a video ready to go behind the scenes I hope to get up this weekend. If you subscribe to my channel right here you can see it when it goes live. And of course I'll be sure to let you know when the collection and official photos are ready at Beauxoxo.
