My Little French Riviera Box, My Little Box June 2015

In June My Little Box treated their subscribers to a trip to the beautiful French Riviera with their 'My Little French Riviera Box', in collaboration with the designer Sarah Lavoine. Although the box was a little late this month they more than made up for it with the beautiful video above to accompany the theme.

The French Riviera is actually somewhere I will be fortunate enough to visit again this summer, and ever since I was a little girl, it's a part of the world I've always loved dearly. In France of course it translate to the infamous, The Côte d'Azur, but here my Little Box have used the French Riviera term which is how it translates into English.

The Côte d'Azur is the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France, also including the sovereign state of Monaco. There is no official boundary, but it is usually considered to extend from the Italian border (Italian Riviera) in the east to Saint-Tropez, Hyères, Toulon, or Cassis in the west.

When you open the box there's a lovely illustrated card which reads, 'This is my happy place' which is beautifully illustrated by Kanako. This is going up proudly in my studio because that is indeed my happy place! Underneath this card is the monthly magazine, 'My Little World'. I'm still not crazy on the new fold out design, though it still has articles which I enjoy and it's always a lovely addition.

There was a very quirky lifestyle item this month in the form of these cute planter duos designed by Kanako, who you may know as the illustrator for My Little Box. Now I'm not going to lie: I'm not really a plant/flower kind of girl so I'm not going to use these planters in a conventional way, but maybe a makeup brush holder, clips, pencils, pens and so much more- the options are truly endless. They're so different whilst not my obvious choice, it's lovely to have something so different sometimes.

The luxury item this month are these sunglasses by Sarah Lavoine. It's so unusual to have something like this in a subscription box and thus reinforces constantly what makes My Little Box so special, and so unique! I wasn't too sure at first if these would suit me as they are so circular in their frame and my little round-ish small face- but they actually do! What I like the most is that they have a beautiful, deep plumy shade to them and I can't wait to wear them all summer long. They're also extremely robust and light-weight making them perfect for travel.

The beauty item I adore the most this month is a nail polish called 'Loved Up' by Sarah Lavoine. It's a stunning deep azure blue that is of course absolutely perfect for a box themed around the French Riviera and the stunning Mediterranean blue sea shades.

To prep your skin for the Riviera sunshine you get a Marine Scrub Salt treat from My Little Box's range 'My Little Corner'. I'm hoping this works on my sensitive skin as it has such a fresh, summery scent.

The last item is Kerastase's Ciment Thermique which is a blow drying thermal treatment. This blow-dry milk product aims to resurface and strengthen damaged and brittle hair, offering a healthy dose of heat protection along the way. I've never been a huge fan of Kerastase's ethics so I have passed this to my Mum and she's very grateful!

Thanks to this gorgeous box I already feel like I've had a blissful escape to the French Riviera already and so I'm even more excited to go now! How about you? What did you make of My Little Box this month?
