Australia and New Zealand Beauty Haul

My Mum and Dad recently went to New Zealand for my cousin's wedding but much to my huge disappointment I wasn't able to make it. I was honestly so gutted I couldn't go as both countries are places I just long to visit.

My Mum asked if there was anything I wanted whilst she was over there. As you know, I really love New Zealand beauty bloggers and vloggers such as ShannonSally and Olivia, and so I was already growing quite the wish-list from these lovely girls!

One product seriously high on my wish-list was some Jojoba Oil. I constantly see it raved about by Australian and New Zealand beauty girls. I got some of The Jojoba Company Australian 100% Jojoba oil. Jojoba Oil is one of those natural, wonder products with a million different benefits. To name just a few it's: Antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hypoallergenic and naturally contains vitamins A, D and E and Omega 6 and 9 essential fatty acids. I've been using it at night for a few weeks now and my skin has such a glow to it in the morning. It feels really balanced too and not at all oily. I absolutely love it so far and more than a serum currently.

The next is a little tube of Lucas Papaw. This stuff is so raved about in Australia and the frenzy has definitely hit our shores too as I hear it mentioned a lot. It's one of those wonder balms that does it all from sunburn to eczema, rashes, nappy rash, insect bites, chafing, splinters and so much more. I have yet to try it all but I'm excited to see if it lives up to the hype! I'm sure it does!

Two make up brands I see dominate Australian drugstores is Australia Cosmetics and Chi-Chi Cosmetics. Make up isn't my Mum's forte so she found it hard to locate some of the products but very sweetly picked up a Velour Lips in the shade 'Milano'. They are essentially lip stain creams similar to those that sell both on the high street and high end here. I really love it and definitely want to get more shades.

In terms of New Zealand beauty products I had no idea what I wanted exactly, but definitely products with Manuka Honey or that were from the mineral rich Rotorua. The latter reminds me of products I got from Iceland with all the incredible thermal pools and the mud masks available.

First up my little Manuka Honey stash! As I have poorly dry-eczema ridden skin on my hands, I'm really looking forward to trying this Manuka Health Honey Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream. Manuka Honey, world famous to New Zealand, is renowned for its extraordinary skin rejuvenating properties and it also contains Sweet Almond oil, Avocado oil and Shea butter to intensely moisturise dry skin. Similarly a Manuka Health Face Mask which nourishes and soothes the facial skin.

Something I'm really loving is this Wild Ferns Manuka Honey Foaming Facial Wash. I don't often use foaming cleansing products because in the past they have dried out my skin terribly but this feels so luxurious and really nourishing. It's antibacterial and antioxidant due to the Manuka Honey and helps remove impurities gently. The very last product I have containing Manuka honey is a little lip balm: My Mum said these were everywhere!

I'm so excited to try the products from Rotorua especially. If you're unaware of this area, Rotorua is basically the Iceland of New Zealand with geothermal attractions such as mud pools, geysers and hot springs. It was first settled by Maori who used the hot springs for cooking and bathing and Rotorua soon attracted European residents. The reputed health benefits of its hot pools quickly earned the area the name of ‘Cureland’.

Rotorua mud is very high in minerals due to its contact with the volcanic gases and minerals from the earth’s centre. It's because of this high mineral content that the mud stores heat easily when it’s warmed, which makes it ideal for heat treatments. I'm really excited to try A Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey. I expect it to be like Icelandic beauty products I picked up some years ago. They definitely leave your skin feeling extremely clean and nourished. To enjoy the Rotorua experience further my Mum got me some Rotorua Thermal Mud Bath Salts and A Rotorua Mud and Mineral Soap.

Finally two totally kind of wacky products: A Merino Revitalising Lanolin Hair Tonic and an Ovine Placenta Creme....yep!!

Are any of you reading this from Australia or New Zealand? Or if not, have you made it over there? As I have friends and family in this part of the world do let me know what you all love and recommend. I'm so in love with so much of the above already. My Mum also picked up tons of magazines for me which I'm loving!

  1. I'm sure there will be another opportunity for you to go there hun! I've been wanting to try pure jojoba oil for a while now too and I've heard amazing things about the Lucas Paw Paw ointment, hope you share your thoughts about it with us! xxx

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I love to hear what you all think and I try and get back to everyone :) xoxo
