Favourites: May 2014

HOW is it June people, how?! Here in the UK it's very cloudy and quite frankly a little miserable looking you'd be forgiven for thinking it's autumn again to be honest! Anyway, May has been a mad old month of travelling so here's a little rundown of things I can remember to loving.
 1. Moo Dairy Free Chocolate

So here's my problem: I'm dairy free but I adore chocolate! I am however quite happy with any chocolate from milk to 90% dark but nowadays I try to avoid milk and white chocolate and eat just dark chocolate because the majority of this is dairy free anyway. When I want a milk chocolate fix or something lighter I am so obsessed with the brand Moo Free Chocolates who specialise in dairy free milk chocolate. Try it even if you're just trying to cut down on dairy they're so yummy!

2. Pixi Glow Tonic

One of my most talked about beauty products of the moment? I think so! Thanks to Caroline Hirons I finally succumbed and got myself a bottle. I have always just used a bog standard gentle toner but I definitely see the benefits to an exfoliating facial glow tonic. It is incredible. Good grief this stuff is so good! I am so happy this has turned out to be the case, as I was worried it was perhaps hyped up. It helps with my skin redness, it balances my skin, it completely cleared up my eczema on my chin, I just love it. I couldn't recommend it more and it's made me want to over-haul my whole skincare regime because I thought a product like this in the past would be so harsh for me but it's ridiculously gentle. Grab a bottle of Glow Tonic here.
3. Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Again, another very hyped up beauty product in the beauty blogger community that I really wanted to try was Trilogy's Rose Hip Oil. Rosehip oil's potent natural actives make it highly effective to use as a facial oil for a variety of skin concerns including dehydrated and ageing skin. I have used this for about a month and I apply 2-3 drops and sometimes I mix some in with my moisturiser in the morning if I'm not wearing foundation. Generally my skin is a lot smoother and softer, breakouts have been reduced and my skin just looks so much better than it has done in the past few years. I really highly rate this it's most definitely worth the hype again. I'm totally sold on facial oils now. For the record, I have combination/sensitive skin and I don't find it too oily at all. 4. Yes To Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment

I really rate Yes To products because they're natural, good quality and really work! The formula of their blueberry eye cream blends paracress flower to reduce fine lines, anti-oxident rich blueberries and skin-softening beeswax. I'm very fickle when it comes to eye creams because I don't have many problems with my skin there, apart from the odd eczema break out so for me the main quality I look for is moisturisation and this is certainly something it achieves. I adore anything blueberry ish, it has a very neutral scent and it's just something I have really loved using this month.
5. Fudge Iced Raspberry and Vanilla Hair Spray

Because I have had asthma since childhood there's certain products I can't really go near. Hairspray was always such a product, but I was feeling a tad rebellious so I picked up this Fudge raspberry and vanilla scented spray because you all know how obsessed I am with vanilla anything, and also I saw a video by the lovely Gemsmaquillage where she raved about it in one of her videos and I was easily sold, to be honest. it does smell incredible, it goes without saying, but it really does work very well for smoothing my ends and keeping frizz at bay. I'm obsessed with it on all counts! Find out more here.
6. Make Up Forever HD Foundation

I'm not a foundation girl at all, as you all know, but I just fancied digging my Make Up Forever foundation out because I want a smokey evening look and now I just find myself needing to stop using it! It's just so, so light, the shade 110 is perfect for my snow white complexion and it just feels like my skin but better. I don't know anything about foundations, I've hardly used any, but for me this is the best one I've ever, ever tried. Check out swatches and more reviews here.
7. 'Eat Pretty' by Jolene Hart

Out of everything I've used beauty wise this month, you cannot beat the results of beautifying foods but because I've actually just reviewed this, to save on repeating myself endlessly like I know I tend to do (sorry!), head on over to my review right here
8. MAC Illustrated Face Kit by Rebecca Moses in Brown (LE)

This is such a stunning palette I feel bad it's limited edition because honestly this is THE perfect travelling palette. I've travelled a lot in April and May and this is so handy. It's light-weight, has a blusher, 4 natural complimenting eye shadows, two lip colours and a double ended brush. Also, the Rebecca Moses illustration is so stunning (to see the front click here). I wish they did more travel palettes like this because so many I see are lovely but don't have absolutely everything you'd need, and this has such neutral colours like MAC faves 'All That Glitters' and 'Orb'. MAC- please make this permenant!
9. Dr. Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bath Salts

Bath Salts are particularly beneficial in alleviating dry skin conditions as well as acting as a natural exfoliant, remarkably improving skin texture and due to their magnesium and potassium properties, help soothe away aches and pains. I picked up bath salts when I travelled to Iceland and I find products like this amazingly soothing for my eczema. I'm not loyal to any brand in particular but I'm throughly loving the Dr. Organic variety I picked up in Holland & Barrett. Amazingly soothing and relaxing to add to your bath time routine.

10. Coldplay 'Ghost Stories'

I'm such a  huge, huge Coldplay fan and like so many I was eagerly waiting for 'Ghost Stories'.  This album is so different from their previous records, and some love it and some aren't so keen on their new direction, but I personally love it. It's a very honest album, it's a little heart-wrenching in parts, and for me totally zen like. You definitely get an insight into Chris Martin's emotional state, and there are some stunning melodies that though simple, are subtle and supple, creating dynamics in their own little way. My stand out track is probably 'Another's Arms' but I'm in love with so many.

So that's May all wrapped up in my little loves. What have you been loving this month? Please share your posts or thoughts below!
