I know Valentine's Day is nearly over, but before we say goodbye until next year I wanted to make a super sweet post about the LUSH Valentine's Day Collection for 2014. As you all know too well; I adore LUSH. I am also an ex-Lushie, and you know, once a Lushie, always a Lushie! I always fall madly in love (ha, funny that, Valentine's and all) with LUSH's Valentine's products because if you're a sweet scented fan like myself, it's a collection that caters to us very well indeed. I picked up a few pieces so I'm going to review them below just because they are still online and also if you're hitting the high street this weekend, you may want to pick up a few bits before they disappear.
Prince Charming Shower Gel
When I read this description I was imagining being really super sweet (and the vanilla element to a shower gel always excites me!) but actually this shower gel is overwhelmingly carried by the pomegranate juice, and grapefruit oil, which mixed with sandalwood creates a very warming, fruity scent. There's absolutely a sweet nod to it, but it's not Snow Fairy sweet at all, and to me is very faintly a nod to something like Turkish Delight. If you spy a 100g bottle maybe check it as I do absolutely recommend checking it out. Check Prince Charming out online here.
Love Locket Bath Bomb
This visually is absolutely my favourite part of the collection this year. With a cute heart shape and yellow key centre, the name Love Locket is truly perfect. LUSH say that Love Locket 'was inspired by the kind of heart-shaped locket you wear as a necklace, perhaps with a secret photograph of a loved one inside. In the same way, you have to unlock (crack open) this Love Locket bath bomb to reveal the secrets hidden within…' Honestly? I didn't crack it, I completely forgot (shame on me, I know!) so I really want to pick up another now to see the latter secrets revealed but anyway, I certainly wasn't disappointed with this. It fizzed away a lot more quickly than I had imagined and left a gloriously pink foamy colour with a gorgeous neroli oil and jasmine scent in its trail. Jasmine is the scent for Valentine's Day so I adored this.
Should you do this properly however and use it in different stages, the outside shell of this bath bomb is full of paper confetti hearts, which almost explode out of the ballistic, the second it hits the water. These hearts either float to the surface of the water or rest at the bottom of the tub and believe it or not are actually edible, and in some way are seaweed based, however whilst I am personally not going to start eating hearts from my bath, I guess it's good to know! Overall I would absolutely pick this up but don't do a me unless you're feeling extravagant and get a good few baths from it because at £6.95 to use it for just one bath seems a little much for most! Unlock Love Locket here.
In a nutshell this smells AMAZING! Creamy Candy bubble bar slice is my favourite ever LUSH product and this smells exactly the same so it's like a solid body lotion to go with it. This massage bar is made with luxurious butters that will feel very squishy compared to other massage bars from LUSH and that beautiful vanilla, musky sugar-sweet scent is perfection. Looking like a Jammy Dodger dipped in pink, this luxurious little massage bar is loaded with skin living butters and oils, including cupuaçu butter, shea butter and olive oil, and with a dash of cornflour to leave you with the silkiest skin you can imagine. But as I said, be warned due to the type of butters and oils in this product it melts very, very easily. Overall, for those that adore sweet, vanilla scents and already fans of Creamy Candy, Rock Star soap and Snow Fairy, you need to get this cutie pronto. Get Close To this massage bar here.
I hope you enjoyed my little round up of LUSH's Valentine's Day collection for 2014. Did any of you try any of them out?
