Behind The Scenes: Glitter Hearts Photoshoot

Want more glittery goodness from this photo shoot? Join me after the cut pretties :)

When I can I always love to share with you all the backstage fun that goes into my Beauxoxo photo shoots. Today I successfully shot every single one of my glitter heart hair band designs. It all started years ago when I created this glitter heart hair band and I have taken them to both Clothes Show Live events now and they always sell out so quickly but they are not always the website best sellers because they are one of very few things I have yet to have a photo for. So, I thought with Autumn/Winter here, and hearts owing the Burberry catwalks this AW2013 season, why not just go for it and get a beautiful photo for each design.

To help me achieve all of this my lovely model Velvet, who I work with regularly, has a fab studio at the bottom of her garden (not jealous at all...*totally am! ha*) and we decked it out with sugary sweet glittery tissue paper, sparking tulle, balloons and whimsical butterflies door hangers; just everything you could possibly imagine really to make it a really sweet very enchanted backdrop. I have longed to do this for so long actually as I always, always use the outdoors for shoots but this was so cosy and intimate and I felt we could just all be more decadent but not get endless stares! We went full on with costume and make up too and I lent Velvet my Betsey Johnson dress, I'm Your Present Sweetheart earrings and make up was created using copious amounts of glitter from MAC, Topshop and Stargazer pulled together with lilac pink hued lips from Lime Crime.

The photography is my wonderful local girl Kaja Jangaard whose talent continually astounds me. We played around with so many new ideas I had never seen before like hanging the tulle from some string to the ceiling (total DIY here guys!) and capturing images through the tulle for a dreamy look. I cannot wait to see the end result but I just wanted to post these back stage images which will hopefully inspire you to maybe play about with sets for your own blog, parties or whatever! As you can see, we used a teeny tiny space because my photography is predominately head shots. Another tip I would say it to keep things like tulle and funny door hangers like the above because you never ever know what magic these items can sometimes bring!

Have you ever created fun backdrops for photos? I'd love to know so share all below :)

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I love to hear what you all think and I try and get back to everyone :) xoxo
