Favourites: September 2012

I can’t believe it’s October, I’m really confused what happened in September! I’m so sorry for not blogging much this month, I think I have been really busy and everything is a blur! Anyway this month I endeavor to blog so much more because I miss it. I’ve also been having a massive think about my blog in general and I’m thinking about this big new project. It might amount to nothing, so I won’t say anymore, but if it does then that will be something to get my teeth into big time! Anyway, that aside, here’s what I’ve loved using this month. I hope you enjoy and find some new favourites too :).

1. Good Things ‘Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser’

I’m a massive, massive fan of the Good Things skin care range developed by beauty journalist Alice Hart-Davis. It’s just so refreshing to be able to find something on the high-street that isn’t tested on animals or packed to the brim with chemicals. I normally use LUSH’s ‘Angels on Bare Skin’ cleanser in the morning which I adore but I had literally ran out one morning with no back up (as is the norm for me: Queen of Dis-organisation!). I was then in Boots later that day and thought I would pick up a cleanser from Good Things as like I said, I’m a big fan. This cleanser is relatively new and I have been wanting to try it out for a while. I won’t ramble on, but basically it’s a cleanser and toner and you simply apply to a cotton pad and wipe it all over your face. It smells of strawberries and it's seriously, seriously good! It just makes my skin feel soft, smooth, refreshed and very clean. I haven’t noticed a difference to pore size, but it does help with oiliness throughout the day for sure.  2. Harajuku Lovers Jingle G Perfume

I know it’s not Christmas yet…really I do, but this fragrance is so divine! I have actually featured this in a favourites post before so I’m not going to on too much but I just love, love, love this fruity musky scent and the bottle is oh so adorable. I have hardly anything left in here and I will be very sad when I use it up as it’s just beautiful. Having said that, the thought of using the adorable bottle as a Christmas decoration is cute indeed!

3. LUSH Candy Mountain Bubble Bar Slice

Oh gosh, something else that is Christmas themed! This is completely unintentional! I promise I am not one of those people that starts a Christmas countdown in October! Anyway I absolutely adore the ‘Candy Mountain’ bubble bar slice from LUSH. It’s pretty much identical to my beloved 'Creamy Candy' bubble bar slice which is my ultimate favourite so goodness knows why I stocked up on so many of these but anyway I did, and I’m loving the sweet, cosy scent as the nights are getting colder, and we currently have no heating! This bubble bar has had a little makeover this year and you can check it out here and whilst you’re browsing the LUSH website, don’t forget to check out all their Christmas products, because there’s nothing like a LUSH Christmas!

4. MAC ‘Daft Pink’ Mineralize Blusher

I have fallen in love with this blush so much lately. I’ve always loved it, but I used to use it sparingly because it looks so scary in the pan and you think that will transfer to your cheeks! In actual fact it’s super flattering, and gives a lovely rosy glow that’s perfect for this time of year. Sadly I think this was a limited edition product and is no longer avaialble, but I reckon 'Love Thing' is a pretty good dupe.

5. Collection 2000 Pressed Powder

On the said day I purchased the Good Things cleanser I also picked up this face powder from Collection 2000 as I also just ran out of my beloved MAC mineralize skin finish and was in desperate need of any face powder as I wasn’t near a MAC counter (like I said, I’m really dis-organised!!). Well for those with snow white skin like me will sympathise when trying to find anything decent on the high-street for us pale skinned girls. In a sea of orange powders I stumbled across this face powder in Collection 2000. It perfectly matches my skin tone and is veeeery fair indeed! I’m really impressed with Collection 2000 and how they cater for very fair skin. I also adore their concealer. Whilst this powder isn’t as good as my MAC powder, I’m just delighted that it matches my skin tone!

6. Topshop Louise Gray ‘Pinch Punch’ Nail Polish

Ahhhh I MUST blog about this Topshop Louise Gray collection as it is utterly fabulous, that seems so silly of me. Right, making a blogging to do list and that’s at the top! Anyhow this is literally punch with glitter and sparkles in. Perfecto! You can still buy it here.

7. Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner

I was doing the make up for one of my models for my shop and had this in my little make up kit. A 40s esque cat eye can always be a little daunting for many, but with eyeliners like this on the market nowadays, it really shouldn’t! This is such a bargain and it’s so easy to use and you will have an effortless cat eye in two seconds flat, I just love it, and I believe it comes in an array of fun shades as well as everyday black.

8. Freederm Gel
I had a horrible painful spot on my chin which was a reaction to a cupcake I had because, umm, I’m kind of naughty and shouldn't have them because I’m allergic to dairy. Anyway, I was picking up a prescription and this is all they had in my tiny Boots, and I didn’t have anything at all at home. I didn’t think it would work but next day it was practically gone. Just amazing, I’m definitely going to use this again and again and I have used a lot of similar products that have helped but this was the best result I have ever seen. 9. Office Tapestry Shoes

Okay so I know I have only just blogged about these shoes, but I’m featuring them again because they top off my favourites nicely! Read more about them here.

10. ‘Bikes’ Lucy Rose
It has become a little thing that I always round off my favourites post with something not related to fashion or beauty, so here is a track I have loved this month called ‘Bikes’ by Lucy Rose. I love how Lucy has just quietly come onto the music scene and her sound is so refreshing. She has such a sweet voice and I just love how calming her music is to listen to. I reckon she will be absolutely massive this time next year. A star in the making for sure.

So, that’s my top 10 for September, now share what you’ve loved please :).

xoxo
