REVIEW: The Body Shop The Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

017020021

It’s not often I hear about a Body Shop product being raved about so much, but this is certainly something I have seen doing the rounds on the blogosphere lately. I do think, however, the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop is one of the lines that does get quite a bit of attention on blogs in general. Anyway, I have a funny kind of relationship with the Body Shop in general.  As a child I was so obsessed with the banana shampoo, and the ickle polar bear soaps (does anyone remember those?!) but during the whole L’oreal takeover I went off the whole company massively as I just thought it was the oddest of moves ethics wise, however when I last went into a really good branch, I took the time to ask whether they are still cruelty free, and thankfully I was given a bunch of paper work the sweet girl printed off to ensure me they are. By the way, I didn’t require the paper work at all, she just thought I’d like the see ‘the small print’, haha.

So rambling aside it was quite fun to see all the different ranges but I was super keen to try out the new highly raved out Tea Tree pore minimiser. So many rave about Benefit’s Porefessional but at £23 it’s a little pricey, and this is a much more purse friendly £7.50.  Unfortunately I can’t seem to find much more information on it really. The packaging itself doesn’t include that much information but in essence the product aims to makes pores look smaller whilst also smoothing the skin, acting as a primer and mattifying, leaving skin feeling fresh and pure. On the pores front, when you apply it with make up over the top it does help, although they are still there when make up is removed. However on the mattifying front this product is AMAZING! I have quite an oily t-zone and yet when this is applied it instantly leaves my skin looking really matte and thus makes an incredible base for make up.

Infused with Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil it smells really, really gorgeous but it’s not for those who don’t like tea tree as it’s very strong. Bu overall a really great product, and despite not getting rid of noticeable pores it really does help mattify the skin perfectly, and all day as well. I wouldn’t recommend this at all for very dry skin, but I have combination/sensitive and it didn’t aggravate it at all.  I can’t seem to find the product on the website but if you’re interested in checking it out it should be in all stores now.

In skin care related chat, I was contacted by Jergens lately about a competition they are running called ‘Style Your Skin’ which gives 3 lucky winners the chance to feature in a Marie Claire photo shoot. The lucky winners will be invited to the exclusive photo shoot in London, where their hair and make up will be styled by professional hair and make up artists. The photos from the shoot will then be published in none other than Marie Claire, the beauty and fashion bible. So if you want to get inside one of the biggest fashion magazines in the UK, you can click here to enter. Good luck, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  1. I had one of those tea tree products. But I wasn't too happy with it. I then found Herbalism by Lush and I haven't used anything else for my face ever since.
