OOTD: ‘“Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle.” Marilyn Monroe

Before I start my rambles…I have really bad eczema on my feet which I slapped tons and tons of make up on just for this photo because I wasn’t sure if people would like to look at it very much!! I don’t recommend covering up eczema like this but my brother thought it looked awful for the photo so I quickly blurred some foundation on it!
Anyway, an extremely belated outfit post! I so enjoy putting these together but I find them ridiculously hard to do with a tripod and what not, but kindly my brother quickly took these for me. Apologies the quality and lighting is a little off, he wasn’t sure what settings he was using! But, he’s done well I think, and t’was very sweet of him to help out, and so I hope you get the general idea!

As some of you may know, this year marks fifty years since Marilyn Monroe passed away. Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog will know that I am a massive, massive fan of Marilyn. I saw this skirt the other day on Glitter For Dinners and fell head over heels. I do actually own a Marilyn skirt from Lipsy but it’s so, so long and doesn’t really suit me terribly well, but the length on this is perfection! In fact the whole skirt is perfection. It has a super comfy elastic waist and I just adore the fullness to it, giving you a very Marilyn esque flirty look! I paired the skirt with a bog standard vest top with a little lace crop top as it’s not been as warm today. To accessorise, I went with some lush black t-bar shoes from New Look, Marilyn red lips inspired pearly bracelets, and of course, the ultimate Hollywood accessory: huuuuuge statement sunglasses! These are courtesy of Cutie Dynamite and I wear them all.the.time! Oh, and I don’t know if you can see, but I added a hint of sparkle with my homemade black glitter bow. Teeny bit of self promotion there ;), haha.

I urge you all to check out Glitters For Dinners store here because I simply love, love, love their stuff. They are a Melbourne, Australian based boutique that sells exclusively on Facebook. Simply browse their albums and comment ‘sold’ to purchase what takes your fancy. I’m not 100% sure if the Marilyn skirt is still for sale, but the girls who run the boutique are super, super lovely so I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if you enquired! I’ve made so many orders recently as they had such lush Marilyn and Audrey Hepburn stuff.
I’m now going to watch the Olympics closing ceremony and I cannot blimmin’ wait. I’m the most un-sporty person in the whole universe and yet I’m completely under the Olympic spell. I’m utterly, utterly captivated by the whole thing. In fact, I’m not even sure who I am anymore, haha. But haven’t Team GB done so incredibly well?! To come third out of all the countries in the world is outstanding, I think. Makes me feel so proud!

Would love to know what you think of the skirt, or maybe even the Olympics or whatever you fancy chatting about, go for it! haha. Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend ♥.

xoxo

  2. Amazing skirt and your hair is gorgeous.

I suffered with eczema a couple of years ago on my hands it was horrible so I pity you as I know how awful it is. It does not look like you have loads of make up on though you look quite natural x

    1. Thank you so much, that's so sweet. Yes eczema is not nice. I don't normally cover it up like this but I know some people might not like to look at it as mine can get a bit infected and nasty :| xoxo
