REVIEW: Nail Order

Before I took my blogging break in June the lovely Hayley from her gorgeous blog Strangeness and Charm kindly send me some of her gorgeous false nails for me to try. Now whilst this may be a shocker to some I have never, ever worn false nails before! I have played the violin and piano since I was about 3 years old, so I have grown up with music teachers forcing me to file down my nails! Ironically, my actual nails are extremely hard and can grow very, very long but due to poor health in recent years they are truly horrible. Now I don’t do much music it seemed like a good time to give false nails ago!

Hayley hand paints each and every false nail, and they are so beautifully done it must take her forever! I dabbled in nail art two years ago and I appreciate how totally time consuming it is, and how steady your hands need to be! Now before I show you all photos, can I add a teeny disclaimer that I have never, ever worn false nails before, so my place and what not is a little off, and additionally, I have chubby nails!! Oh and just so you know, when I wear them again I will file them down, I just wanted to show you them in their fully painted state.

So she sent me three little nails designs as follows:

Spring Bunnies

003055

Eeee, how CUTE are the little bunnies?! If you’ve been a reader of my blog for some time now you know I am totally obsessed with bunny printed things and complete with a little neon pink nose, I have fallen majorly for this little design. I think this would be my favourite out of all her designs, but then that does kind of figure, right? ;). £4.

Pretty Florals

033068

I love, love, love the Cath Kidston esque ditzy floral printed nails. I adore pink, lilac and green together so the colour combination is fantastic and this design is so perfect for this time of year. The little roses have been painted so carefully. £5.

Glitter Gradient

019078

The final set to show you all is the glitter gradient design. I adore the deep metallic teal topped up with the pretty silver glitter. My battery camera is running out so sorry the glitter doesn’t come out well! I think this design actually suits my skin tone the best, and it would go with so many things without being too OTT. £5.

All nails come with glue comme ça:

002

So my first experience with false nails which is a little shameful for a beauty blogger! I had such fun trying these out and the only thing I was curious about was how they came off, but actually it was so much easier than I thought. If you fancy trying out some of Hayley’s nail then her website is here, and if you love the above designs but would prefer different backgrounds etc, Hayley can custom design things for you. Win, win!

So are you all false nail pros, and get them often, or like me have you never tried them?

Tons and tons of blog posts to come, I’ve had a huge shaped blogging hole in my life, and I need it back!

xoxo

  2. These designs are amazing! I once used face nails but didn't like how easily they pinged off. However, that could have just been a bad experience! xo

  4. Absolutely love the rabbit designs! I love wearing false nails, but I tend to like shorter ones, as I think long nails look strange on my hands with my fingers being so thin haha. xo

  5. Beautiful designs and they are well painted but I just want to point out to you that you have most of the nails on the wrong way. The part where they are attached to the holder should be your free edge and the edges that are not attached should be at the cuticle end of your nail xx
