Rainy Day Treats

So I'm not going to turn this into yet another rainy UK rant, but there is something to be said for weather like so making everyone feel really down. Well this Saturday was probably one of the worst days so far, at least where I live, but somehow I got persuaded to go shopping with my Mum! She is worse than me, haha,  I'm just weak!!
We actually had a lovely time but the high street looked so, so sad. I mean July is normally a time associated with mid-season sales but because this summer has been practically non-existent , so many more clothes were in the sale than normal.

I picked up an assortment of a) said impractical summery things and b) much more sensible rainy day items! The first thing I got was the nude Mel shoes, although I apologise for cutting off the heel. In actual fact it's a wedge with a very small heel detail so it gives plenty of height (something I need at just 5ft!) but is ridiculously comfortable because of the wedge. I adore Mel shoes, and you eager fashionistas will know that Mel is the sister brand to Melissa shoes where Vivienne Westwood's infamous PVC heart heels were born, and that I LOVE, although yet to own some! The shoes I have are reduced to £29.99 from £40 and you can check them out here. They are also available in navy and red. Annoyingly, the coloured shades are cheaper, but they didn't have any left in my size in store.

So I then had a bit of a field day in Topshop's jewellery sale. Topshop has some of the best jewellery on the high street, in my little opinion. I got this little horse necklace and some Venetian mask jewels. Every time I look at it I think of being in Venice again, which is one of my favourite places in the world! Oh and I picked up a nail polish for good measure because I cannot go in Topshop these days without looking at the make up, as you know!

Speaking of make up, I also went slightly crazy in Superdrugs. I haven't been in forever and after catching up on blogs recently the new Sleek and Accessorize palettes seem to be all the rage right now! I also got a Sleek pout paint in blue, because I'm silly like that, and a Collection 2000 gel liner, because I'm intrigued to see how it compares to Bobbi Brown, MAC etc.

And that's almost it apart from an impromptu little visit to Primark where I was delighted at last to find the Mel esque Vivienne Westwood wellies and some totally unnecessary but adorable ickle bear socks!
And now that really is it, a lesser seen 'haul' post from me! Let me know what you've picked up lately as well.

xoxo
