Favourites: April 2012

I have just realised that I never did a favourites post for March which is silly as I love doing them, I guess I just forgot! Anyway today brings the end of April, so here’s just a little look at the things I’ve been loving in particular during the past 30 days.

1. Nubar ‘Lavender’ Nail Lacquer

This pretty shade from Nubar is one of my favourites for Spring. You all know that I adore Nubar polishes anyway, and I think this may be one of my favourites of all time actually, I’d highly recommend it.

2. Soap and Flory ‘Thick & Fast’ Mascara

Like many I picked this up for free in ELLE magazine a month or so ago and at first wasn’t overally impressed as I usually can’t deal with massive mascara brushes but now I really, really love it, and when I’m done I think I will re-purchase. It really thickens your lashes and once you get used to the colossal brush coming towards your eye it’s a fantastic mascara and actually easy to build up!

3. Denman Strawberry Scented Hair Brush

I picked  this little beaut up when Boots had their infamous 3-for-2 on make up and hair and this was something I truly did pick up on a whim imagining it to be one of those novelty products, but I immediately fell in love. If you fancy reading a review, click here to read more of my views!

4. Topshop ‘Brighton Rock’ Lipstick

I talk about this lipstick, way, way, WAY too much but it’s such a gorgeous pink shade, with the teeniest hint of neon esque brightness but it’s just amazing. So in love!

5. LOOK Beauty ‘Sugarpuff’ Lipgloss

I have been using this ever since the LOOK Beauty launch but I can’t remember if I have told you much about it, so in case I have, I apologise but if not, I love this lipgloss tons. It’s a gorgeous peachy-pink that I wear a lot with my beloved MAC Lollipop Lovin, and yet it is equally pretty alone. I haven’t dabbled much with the LOOK make up, but I would recommend this, and it was only £5. The website for LOOK Beauty is here.

6. Origins Starting Over Eye Cream

I’m awful with eye cream, I always forget I should get one, so I decided to splurge on an Origins one as I adore their skin care in general. I had no clue which to go for so I decided to start with Starting Over to see how I like it. I don’t really have wrinkles so much at the moment, but I had a bit of eczema under my eye and it has cleared it up a treat so I’ll be keeping with this for as long as possible! If you want to check out more reviews, then the Origins website has a ton up which I found really useful when choosing the right product for me.

7. H&M Crochet Shoes

I have changed so much in the past year, and one massive, MASSIVE change is that I can no longer wear heels all the time like I used to as my blood pressure can make me very faint and I kept twisting my ankle, haha. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I started to buy more sensible shoes and actually I have got used to them now. In particular I adore these H&M crochet flats as they are SO comfy and they come in a rainbow of gorgeous spring like shades, and I’m so tempted at £9.99 a pair to get the mint and peach to complete the collection….should I?!

8. Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Topcoat

So like many others I used to swear by Seche Vite as a super fast drying top coat but then I was reading a few articles about the ingredients it contains and what not and I was put off big time and just decided to find a replacement. I was really happy to see Nubar did a fast drying top coat, and to be honest it’s just as good so I’m really pleased about that.

9. Glittery Spring Flowers

I found these stunning glittery flowers around Mother’s Day so I purchased a huge bunch for my Mum and would you believe they are only just on their last legs. I am so girly in so many ways but I’m not really a flowers girl as I have really bad hay fever (so romantic, me!) but I cannot stop looking at these pretty, pretty flowers. Makes me really excited for Spring, my favourite season!

10. Marina and The Diamonds Radio 1 Live Lounge cover of ‘Boyfriend’ by Justin Bieber

Now I’m not a 12 year old girl anymore so I don’t really get the whole Justin Bieber thing, but I absolutely love this cover Marina and The Diamonds did of the track, ‘Boyfriend’. The original song isn’t really my type of thing, but I love, love, love this. I’m a huge Marina fan at the moment. I remember seeing at the LOOK show a year or so ago and just being completely star struck. She is such a beauty, and I love her quirky sense of style.

So that’s April all wrapped up in one little post, so I now want to know what you’ve all been loving as usual :).

xoxo
