So as you know from my last post yesterday I went to IMATS and this was my fourth year of going. Either that or five, I actually cannot remember, but it makes me feel so old nonetheless! I used to go back in College as I was studying fine art for one of my A Levels and one of my projects was on make up as art. Since going the once I completely fell in love with the whole thing and I have been every year since. Despite being ill and not being able to travel strictly I decided I would make every effort to be there! Over the years it has changed a lot. This year I saw bloggers and vloggers here there and everywhere whereas the first few years I didn’t see anyone I felt like I ‘knew’.

I think for some IMATS is either something you think, I’d like to go just the once to say I’ve done it, or like me you go every single year because you absolutely love it. It is very crowded and for some could be a little overwhelming, I totally get that. This year it was in the great hall and all I can say it thank. goodness. Like seriously why hasn’t it always been there? The counters were less like sardines and so much more spacious. The make up displayed both in photographic and modelled form were as usual truly spectacular and it just inspires me so much. Every time I go I’m reminded why I love make up so, so much, and I’m not ashamed to admit that. For me it’s more than a bit of neutral eye shadow on a bare lid, it’s about self expression using the body and face as a canvas and the fact make up is art. There’s something truly magical about that to me, and I also tend to say that once I come back from IMATS all I want to do is paint pretty faces, but actually I’m going to be a bit more realistic this year. I am going to slowly take this blog from being less about reviews and more make up looks, like I used to do back in the day. Just look after look after look, and I miss that so much!

What made this year just so amazing was the fact I got to meet so, so many lovely amazing, gorgeous bloggers and Youtubers. My Scottish sweetheart Becca (Lil MissTutty Fruitie) who is such a warm, lovely, funny girl and she’s literally like an IMATS tour guide, she knows everything and everyone! She came out to meet me in a flustered state from having had a very long, tiring train journey and she’s just such a sweetie. Then the ever so wonderful Kim (Dottiek) and Leanne (Do Not Refreeze) who I didn’t see enough of quite frankly but they are such lovely girls. Next up was the super adorable Laura (Beauty Lovers Notes) who looked beyond gorgeous in my black glitter bow which literally made my day! She was so sweet, I felt like I had known her forever! Also the stunning Cole (Coleyyyful) who is a truly amazing girl, and so beautiful. The biggest surprise of the whole day though was meeting the totally amazingly lovely Louise (Sprinkle Of Glitter). I knew she was going, but IMATS is huge and I never thought in a million years we would get to see each other but Becca, Laura, Cole, Louise and I ended up spending the whole time together, and I can honestly say that Louise is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. She’s so bubbly, warm and friendly and just like you see her on camera and I can totally see why Zoe (Zoella) loves her so much now! I also met the her cutie of a baby girl, otherwise known as Baby Glitter, and I can just confirm that she is just (if not more) adorable in real life. I would also like to give a shout out to lovely, lovely Milly (Pearls and Poodles) who is just as beautiful in real life and just a delight to be honest. I also met Vivianna (Vivianna Does Make up), Sara (SWalkerMakeup) Koren (EnKoreMakeup) (one of the nicest guys in the world!) and the best surprise at the end of the day to bump into Sammii (Beauty Crush) and Shirley (Shirley Beniang) on the bus back to Wood Green who are both utterly gorgeous and I was kind of intimidated to be surrounded by such beauties to be honest! haha. It makes me so sad I can't get to events at all to see everyone more, yesterday made me realise that more then ever.

Phew! I really hope I haven’t left anyone out. As you can see I included a photo of stuff I got, a haul from me, I know, I know, I don’t know what’s happening. I didn’t end up getting much apart from brushes and a new MUFE foundation as it’s such a good price there (normally £28, and £18 there). There was nothing I hadn’t seen before but I finally got some Paperself lashes and I cannot wait to do a look with them. I’m absolutely gutted I forgot to go back and get an OCC lip tar and some Eldora lashes but never mind, next time. I’ve included a little photo of me looking very weathered and tired (yes I’m wearing travel sick bands, it’s not because I deem them fashionable, but they just help me get by in the day!) because I know a few people wanted to see my outfit. Thank you gorgeous Laura for taking it for me!

I’m honestly all talked out now I think. If you’ve never been to IMATS before and love make up as much as me then definitely think about going. I love IMATS, in case you couldn’t tell ;).

xoxo

    1. Yeah the tickets are a bit pricey which is a shame as I paid £20 once and now it's nearly £40 I think. xoxo

  6. Wow it's just amazing what can be done with make up. I follow the girl near the bottom with the white beads round her head on instagram. I don't know if you have a iphone, but if you have instagram her names gina harrison. Her backstage photos from the event were so cool. Gorgeous make up! x

  15. The dress looks so cute on you, i knew it would :p Am so tempted to order it for myself, but these things always end up looking way too short and not as good on me as im tall. The makeup on the girl with the pearls is stunning though, like you said- its art essentially!
