Healthy Skin for 2012:‘Feed Your Face’ by Jessica WU, M.D

So you all know by now if you read my blog regularly that I have a great interest in the whole ‘we are what we eat’ theory, and I’ve done countless posts about eating to achieve Healthy Skin, and just last month I posted about starting this whole journey with you all (geez, didn’t mean that to sound so deep, journey?!). Well the only reason for the delay was because I’m trying to gather the information into blog friendly chunks and also I got this book through my letter box this morning so I want to digest (again, bad choice of words…can someone come and do this for me?!) the information to go alongside the other posts I’ll be doing.

I actually first heard about Dr. Jessica Wu’s ‘Feed Your Face’ through one of my favourite blogs, written by Lauren Conrad (and her hair and make up artist) The Beauty Department and immediately snapped up a copy. Now I’m not ‘replacing’ this with the Healthy Skin Diet at all, but quite honestly, I collect these sort of books like most people collect face creams, I just love reading about it! Like I said, I literally received this this morning so this is not a ‘review’ post as that would be just barmy, but I have flicked through it during lunch and what I find interesting is a lot of it is very similar to the Healthy Skin Diet, in terms of agreeing on what foods possess the tools for beautiful skin. I really enjoy the chapter at the back which has ideas for the best foods to put on the skin, and lots of lovely face masks and body scrub recipes.

I cannot wait to read this book from start to finish (and I hate reading…the shame, I know!) and incorporate it into my new Healthy Skin for 2012 series, which hopefully will be up soon. In the meantime, I’ve added a little video from Jessica above. I can already tell I am going to love her!

xoxo
