Favourites: February 2012

Is it really March tomorrow? Woah, that’s a little crazy! I have kind of forgotten so much about this month already but I know I have been loving the following a lot lately; so here it is! Please do let me know what you have been loving this month.

1. Illamasqua Loella Nail Polish
I picked this little beauty up at IMATS this year and I’ve been rocking it ever since. It’s the perfect pastel pink, and admittedly I have a few, but this has a really unique shimmer to it. Hmm okay maybe not shimmer, like a sheen of purple and blue that very subtly runs throughout. I think I picked this up for £5 which is an absolute steal to be honest.

2. LUSH Ultrabland Cleanser
I’m pretty sure this is the best make up remover in the world, at least it’s the best I’ve tried. I have used it on and off since it was first launched but when I left LUSH I went to find something else because you know, loss of discount and all, but you know what I really don’t think it is that expensive for what it is. It’s an incredible cleanser. It really does remove make up like nothing else and what’s more, keeps my redness down, helps with any spots and basically it’s pretty amazing. I feel such a fool for ever trying to replace it, it’s irreplaceable (*tempted to start singing Beyonce*). But seriously, love this stuff!

3. Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets
My skin type is combination/sensitive and with that comes an occasional horrible oily t-zone, so I always carry some blotting papers around with me. I have always used some cheap ones from Superdrug which do the job fine, but they have a fine powder to them which of course on my pale skin has always looked yellow, so I am loving the above from Kleenex which are powder free. I don’t think this was more than £3, but anyway, certainly under £5 and they are just as good, if not better than any expensive ones you can find!

4. Topshop Socks
Oh my goodness I love Topshop socks so, so much! I seem to constantly blog about them, but it’s that ever so tempting 3 for £8 offer that keeps luring me in! They have the best designs on the high-street and I adore them. So cute!

5. Make Up Forever HD Foundation
I haven’t used this foundation in yeeeears before I got a new one from IMATS. It is one I would recommend for pale skin but it’s still not as pale as the Dainty Doll range. It is however a lovely lightweight foundation which is gorgeous for photos and videos, if that’s what you do. I use the shade 110, which is the lightest they do, but mix a little white foundation in with it to get the perfect finish. It’s not my all time favourite foundation, but I’m featuring it this month because for some reason I’ve been using it a lot!

6. LUSH Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion
You all know I adore vanilla so this is a body lotion I adore. I don’t know why I haven’t talked about it before actually. I’m thinking that quite a lot with things lately, like Ultrabland! Anyway, again I’ve used this for a while but more so then ever lately. It’s not the most moisturing lotion at all, I use Dream Cream for that, but it really does have the most beautiful scent in the world. It’s that glorious mix of vanilla and tonka that only LUSH can do. I use it in conjunction with Vanilla Puff and it’s such so, so lovely. I actually want to eat this stuff! Yum.

7. Pastel Glitter Hair Bow
Excuse the self promotion but I have honestly been all over pastel this month, but I do love Spring ever so much, and I’ve been wearing my glitter pastel shades all month long, and long may it continue! If you want one for yourself, then click here.

8. Real Techniques Stippling Brush
If you check out my recent review here then you’ll know why this is a favourite this month, but in a nutshell, it’s one of the best multi tasking brushes for the face I have come across and if you’re looking to get just something to try from Sam’s range, then I couldn’t recommend this more.

9. Katy Perry Eylure ‘Oh, Honey!’ Lashes
This is yet again a favourite from a recent post but I am so in love with these lashes and if you want to see why then click here for my review and a little look at them in closer detail.

10. Davy Jones
As I was half way through this post I logged onto Twitter and literally couldn’t believe it when I found out the ever so lovely Davy Jones had passed away. Now no okay so I’m not a child of the 1960s but I grew up watching repeats of The Monkees TV show when I was little and I fell in love with Davy just like every girl did back in the 60s. Davy Jones was such a warm, loving person and he will be so greatly missed. RIP Davy Jones. Gone but not forgotten.

Ultrabland and Angels are my two must haves def. Such a gentle cleanser and my skins really quite oily so didnt think i could use this as it seems greasy….but its ace. Sorry lush nut rant over xxxx
