REVIEW: Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Masque

When you’re ill, your skin is often the best indicator that things aren’t perhaps working as well as they should. So although normally I treat my skin like a little dry, sensitive soul, I have lately been dealing with spots. Yes, spots, blemishes, zits, or any other lovely name you can give them. On a little trip to Superdrug to pick up the latest Sleek palette, I was enticed by the lovely Montagne Jeunesse face masks again. I had tried the delicious (literally!) White Chocolate masque before and absolutely loved it, so I picked up this mask aimed at spot prone skin. Now I don’t have full on acne or anything, but I just have a few blemishes as a result of not feeling too well at the moment. Here’s what Montagne Jeunesse have to say:

“Enliven your skin and help combat unsightly blemishes with our Aloe Vera and Willow Blemish Mud. Our special blend of nature’s remedies naturally targets your problem areas for a clear and clean complexion.

• Gluten Free
• Dairy Free
• Nut Derivative Free
• No Added Parabens”

So you simply slather this on your skin for 10-15 minutes, during which time it dries to a clay like finish, and gives a tightening effect to the skin. You can see from the lovely (or not so!) mug-shot of myself in said mask that it is actually a lot paler than the packet image suggests, but this is because of all the gorgeous natural ingredients, which will vary from pack to pack.

And to cut to the chase, this mask is great! I don’t know if it’s the best I’ve ever tried, and I may not like it as much as the previous one I tried, but overall I think this is a really good mask. I love the way it tightens your pores, eliminates oily patches immediately and dries up blemishes. It didn’t really take out my redness much (you can see the after results in the last photo), and didn’t soften it tremendously, but to be honest I got it because I wanted something to at least dry out my spots and that’s what it did, so then I guess I did love this mask!

What I like most about these masks is that because they all come in little sachets, you can so easily try them out, and for little over £1, they hardly break the bank! And if your skin didn’t react to well to it or something, you haven’t wasted a ton of money on a mask that say cost over £20. But actually what I love the most about this brand is that they are super eco friendly, don’t test on animals, and their ingredients list rocks. As a result, I had presumed for years that they were full of nasties, but oh how wrong I was! For more information on the mask I have used click here. And I apologise profusely for my scary face with a mask on, but figured you would all appreciate seeing what they look like, and a) see, I don’t wear lashes and make up all the time and b) I know, I know, the that is the Hello Kitty dressing gown, because I love you all so much ;).

@glitter detector I have tried the face masks from lush. There is a review on my blog. While they are good, they don't last very long xx

  3. @ Glitter Detector- The LUSH ones are also amazing. I love them just as much :).
