REVIEW: Daniel Galvin Jnr Organic Hangover Hair

This post is a bit random, but I took some photos of this hair care range ages ago and lost the photos, but ta-da, they have been found! I just wanted to do a super quick review on these because as some of you know, I am determined to find a good SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) free hair care range, and I’ve tried many a brand. Liz Earle is by far the best brand I have tried in this respect, which I was kindly sent to try last year, but as I love mooching around the beauty aisles in Waitrose (come on, who doesn’t?!) I spotted this range, by Daniel Galvin Junior, and as it was relatively cheap, I thought I would give it a go and see how I got on. You can get many different type of products for your hair type, but I decided to get ‘Hangover Hair’ as my hair, being long, is prone to dryness. Here’s how the range is described:

Dull, stressed and lifeless locks? Look no further than the Daniel Galvin Junior Hangover Hair care range that will transform tired and dull hair into glossy tresses that look – and smell - fabulous. Hangover Hair is the perfect remedy for your hung-over locks that have been through a hard day’s work and a long night partying and after over exposure to the sun and sea throughout the Summer.

With organic aloe vera, lavender, vitamin e and honey, it’s a pretty luscious ingredients list, and I love it a lot for this. So many times you read ingredient lists and they say ‘natural’ but are still full of rubbish, so this makes a refreshing read. It smells very strongly of lavender which I’m going to be honest, didn’t like much, because I’m not a big fan, but once I got past that, it lathered well and my hair was left very manageable, silky and smooth. As is always the way with SLS free products, and this being no different, you do have to spend a long time rinsing out the product and it can make it get greasy more easily. I kind of dislike this, because it’s not the same clean feeling you may get with an SLS shampoo but nevertheless, I do like this range a lot, and I will definitely but it again when I have run out, so that’s always a good sign! I paid £4.99 for each product, so just under £10 for the two which I thought was decent for natural products. I have also tried the heat protectant which I also loved, so I would recommend the products. You can get the range at Waitrose, as I said, or check it out on their website here.
