How I Celebrate The New Year…

004

Well happy official new year my lovelies! Today is the first day of 2011, and this time last year, this very day, was just a nightmare. But like I always say, I don’t want to bring negativity onto this little blog, but for various reasons New Year’s was hard this year. But as is a tradition in our family, we held our annual all evening meal, which is our quirky way of seeing in the New Year. I can’t be doing with queues and being a taxi all evening, so this is by far my most favourite way to celebrate.

And here’s how it works. We have about seven courses, and between each course you take a present from the tree…

It’s silver so it’s a little more bling-bling, haha. We about 4 starters, including fish, fruit, sorbet, etc. Then the main course…

A Happy New Year pastry decorated beef wellington! And by the end of this it’s pretty much midnight and it’s ready to toast in the new year. And although I don’t like to haul things so much, I figured some of you may be curious as to the little gifts so here they are:

Sorry the photos are a little off quality, but they were taken in amongst meal activity! Anyway I would love to know how you all celebrate New Year’s Eve. Let me know any resolutions you have too!
