The Golden Age of The Ballets Russes and Update

So you’ve probably noticed that I’ve not been updating my blog that much lately, and as I like to think I update it fairly frequently, I thought I should just let you know that it’s not that I’ve lost my ‘blogging mojo’ or anything like that, it’s simply because I am ridiculously busy with Uni work. In particular I am currently taking on a research project based on the infamous Ballets Russes. For those that may not know what that is, it is basically an early 20th century Russian dance company that fused art, dance, music and ballet to become a total artwork, and that travelled throughout the world. It’s a fascinating topic, and brings together the things I am most passionate about. So I love studying it, but there’s a lot to it, and therefore it leaves little time for anything else!

But as I was working away today I realised that some of my readers may be interested in this topic, and so I decided to post about it. In particular the costumes, made by Coco Chanel are just fascinating, and I don’t think a lot realise what influence she had in this particular movement.

So anyway, perhaps a pointless post, but I really hope it’s inspired just a few of you to find out, or Google (Google Images is your friend!) some more information about this fascinating period. I will absolutely be back to blogging soon, but perhaps not much this week! In the meantime, should you have any requests, feel free to leave them in the comments, Tweet (I love Twitter!) or email me. : ).

  1. I always thought that ballet was more than just a dance... I love to watch every move and analyzing it, giving my own meaning or capture the pure meaning behind it juts like you do with a painting (: Such a good subject for research!

  2. As a former dancer, I really appreciated this post. Such a gorgeous photo too. Thanks for sharing :)

  3. hope all the uni work isnt too stressful x

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I love to hear what you all think and I try and get back to everyone :) xoxo
