REVIEW: Sleek ‘Sparkle’ i-divine Eyeshadow Palette

Tis’ the season to sparkle, and I cannot think of a better way to achieve this than with Sleek’s new stunning limited edition shimmering eyeshadow palette, with some of the best shades I’ve seen in a while. I had no idea this was going to be released, I don’t know where I’ve been, but I just so happened to be in Superdrug yesterday and there it was right in front of me in all its sparkly goodness. Of course I had to get it, and so let me now show you, and tempt you into the captivating sparkliness. You’ll have to excuse slightly bad photos as my camera battery was failing, and it was going dark! Don’t you just love winter? Hmm!

But before I start rambling, can we just take a moment to discuss the absolutely show stopping packaging? I absolutely adore this cardboard box design, it couldn’t be more perfect, and a huge relief for opting for the black palette, as some will know I have issues with coloured Sleek palettes! So now moving on from this, the main difference between this Sleek palette and the previous designs, is that it has a clear plastic film over the eyeshadows with the actual name of the shades. I am right in this aren’t I? They have never done this before?

And so above is the palette without a flash in ‘natural lighting’. Awful photo, but even from this you can see how much some of the shades shimmer.

And now with flash, which looks horrible, but now the glitter truly stands out, and I’d say the colour pay off is accurate-ish.

Swatching time! I don’t yet have the ability to add text to photos on my new laptop, so I’m afraid I’ll have to be a bit old school and list the colours. So top row, starting with the pink is: Cranberry, Dream Maker, Galatic. Bottom Row: Illusion, Festive, Mistletoe and Glitz and Glamour.

Top row: Star Light, Noir and Twinkle (which should actually be on first photo, as it’s the one next to Galatic!). Bottom row: Gold Ribbon and Tinsel.

Aren’t the names so Christmassy and apt? And I think Christmassy is a pretty good way to sum up this palette, because I mean with festive names such as Tinsel it’s pretty easy to make that connection! The colours as usual from Sleek are packed with pigment and the texture is just as buttery and soft as always. In fact, I would go as far to say that this is probably now my favourite palette that Sleek have done to date. It’s just so me, and after being a bit meh about the two limited edition released before this, I’m so glad this little beauty has been released. For the last few years I’ve been head to toe in MAC for my birthday make up, but this year, I think this little wonder will grace my eyes! So as Sleek says do I dare to glitterati’? I sure do!

As far as I know this palette is officially released today, 24th November and is limited edition, so as with all Sleek releases if you want it get it…get it now! Has anyone got theirs yet, and if so what do you think? Or are you not into the sparkliness and will miss this one out? Let me know : ).

Picked up the palette from most Superdrug stores or online, priced at £5.99.
