Miracle Oil: Argan Oil

A new super-miracle beauty product seems to pop-up every week, and although I succumb to most, I am generally fairly restrained. However, the buzz surrounding Argan Oil made me think it was something I had to check out.

So what's so special about this oil I hear you say? Well Argan Oil, which is made from the nuts of the Argan tree, which grows almost exclusively in Morocco, is said to have restorative and age-defying effects. It is high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids and is believed to help all sorts of skin conditions such as: dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema and wrinkles. In fact, in a New York Times article, skincare organic skincare Queen Liz Earle said, “when I first found Argan oil, I brought it back to the UK to have it analysed...it was so remarkably high in vitamin E and had these very interesting phytosterols, which are good for scar tissue and so many other things” (one of which is lacklustre skin).
It's been raved about so much, especially with the rich and famous who can't stop talking about it, including the gorgeous Sophie Dahl...and who wouldn't want skin like hers? But this fascination with Argan oil came about because I've recently become addicted to beauty sellers on Etsy, who lovingly hand make an array of gorgeous skincare, bodycare and haircare products. I got mine from a lovely Etsy seller called 'All Natural Face' who does fabulous beauty products, including the above Argan Oil in a really handy roller tube. I've been using it for the past few days and absolutely love it, but I think I need a bigger amount now! This amount is fantastic if you just want to test it out though. But have you heard of this new beauty (or at least, relatively new!) craze for Argan Oil? Or are you going to stick to good ol' Olive oil? If you want to check out the little bottle I got then click here and a really interesting Telegraph article can be read here.
