NOTD: Nubar 'Lavender' Nail Lacquer

This Nubar shade has been on my beauty wish list for the longest time now. Regular followers of my blog will know that for a while now I've grown a little bit obsessed with finding the perfect pastel shades. I haven't got on very well with finding a nice pastel yellow, but so far I've found a great Pastel Peach shade from Model's Own, and although I already own a Lilac shade that I love (OPI's 'Do You Lilac It?'), but I'm a sucker for gorgeous looking pastel lavender/lilac shades and this caught my attention.

Regular followers will also know that I am a little in love with Nubar, and a little while ago, whilst there was a 20% discount code from Beauty Shed, I got a few Nubar shades, this being one of them. Colour wise there's no surprises- it's literally a gorgeous Lavender shade. It may have an unimaginative title, but at least it sums it up perfectly! The colour was slightly streaky but nothing two coats couldn't solve. Interestingly enough, I have recently discovered that ALL pastel shades I have ever tried have been streaky. So after conducting some research (because I'm a saddo!), I discovered that pastel shades are notorious for being streaky, and are often more challenging to apply. This makes total sense now!

Here's a comparison in the bottles between OPI's 'Do You Lilac It?' and Nubar's 'Lavender'. And I know what you're thinking....they look identical, right? Well trust me there's a slight difference in real life!!! 'Do You Lilac It?' is slightly darker, with a real lilac base and is really bright, whereas 'Lavender' has very evident bluey/grey undertones, and is much lighter. Which do I prefer? Right now 'Lavender', because the bluey undertones flatter my skin tone better, and it's the pastel finish I'm after at the moment. In case you missed it, here's a NOTD I did for 'Do You Lilac It?'.
So what do you think of this shade? What polish shades are you lusting after at the moment? I probably shouldn't, but I want to know, so I can add them to my ever-growing wish list ;).
