NOTD: Models Own 'Peach Sherbet' Nail Polish

So the last NOTD I did, I wasn't thrilled with the results, so since then I've been on the search for the perfect pastel shade for Spring. I think it was the lovely Juicy Girl that suggested the brand Models Own, and as I had been curious about them myself, I decided to give them a try. I've always seen Models Own in River Island and so went just the other day and picked out this cute peachy nude shade 'Peach Sherbet'. Later that day though I could have kicked myself though, as then I went to Boots and they have a whole Models Own range now with a gazillion shades to choose from. River Island stock a limited number of Models Own colours so I was so annoyed, particularly as Boots had that pastel yellow shade that many have suggested I try.

Anyway, I was sensible and decided that I would have to see how I get on with the colour I already picked out before getting carried away, after all, my last pastel polish experience wasn't great. But first things first, the packaging is kind of different, and I like it, but I don't really like the handle as much as conventional polishes! The actual colour is really, really pretty. It comes out pretty much like the bottle colour which is a lovely change. I don't know how to describe it really...I guess just as I did above, a Peachy Nude...would you guys agree? Application wise, not amazing. I don't know what my problem is lately, but I'm not getting on with lower brand polishes, even though I used to!!! Don't get me wrong though, it's a LOT better than the Barry M pastel shade I had on last time. It's just, this is a little thick, and the brush just makes it really difficult to get an even coverage. But once it was on I was completely won over, because it dried to a gorgeous creamy finish and although I always use Seche Vite anyway, didn't smudge or anything.

So I would recommend this shade and brand so far, but it's certainly not as quick and as easy to apply as other brands such as OPI, China Glaze, Nubar etc. Or is just me?! Please tell me your views below, and what you think of the colour and Models Own range in general. I can see myself wearing this a lot lately though, it's a really pretty pastel shade that isn't too opaque. Really pleased to have it in my collection! Opps, and I forgot to say, it cost £4.99.

Here's the colour in a different lighting, I'd say it looks more like the above photo though in real life:xoxo

  6. I love models own polishes, i think they're really great application wise and the colour range is superb. I love the look of peach sherbet but for some reason the shade is not available online which is annoyin! My local boots doesn't stock them and the River Island only has a few shades.
