Never forget to B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful...

b never too busy to be beautiful
This news has already started to make its way to Blogspot and of course I'm annoyed at myself that I didn't tell you first but this weekend literally went. I had the flu jab early saturday morning but then had slight flu type symptoms so ugh, yeah, not so fun. Anyway, for all my gorgeous B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful fans I bring you extremely sad news; the company will be ending its 6 year business this Christmas. The following statement was posted on Friday on the UK Lush forum and on the main B website:

"Six years ago B began in bustling Carnaby Street. Since then we have developed the look and feel of the stores and launched the brand into two other countries, Japan and Austria. Now it is with great sadness that we have to tell you that the B stores will be closing at the end of this year. The company has not gone bust or bankrupt and there are no administrators involved, we are simply unable to make a profit. Lush will be absorbing the business in order to retain the assets.

However, we would love you to join us and end our wonderful 6 year adventure on a glittery and glamorous high! Our last B Christmas promises to be a fantastic one with some old B Christmas favourites and a few new ones too. We will be here to help you preen, perfect, prettify and perfume yourself for the upcoming party season; please do come to visit us in our beautiful boutiques before we take a final bow, we would love to see you.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers, who have supported our dream. We have had a great time with B and we know you all have too. Don’t forget everything in B is now limited edition, so if you have a favourite product we suggest you get it now before it goes. Everything now really is collectable!!"

So, so sad but B is just one of many victims of the current economic climate we are all living in. The cosmetics industry is tough, tough, tough. I had 3 and a bit amazing years at B, filled with many ups and downs and I'll always hold an extremely soft spot for the company and what it tried to do. If you love B, then you've still got time to grab your favourites before they all go. And one day, when you have used up all your stash, then don't forget how the beautiful, decadent packaging can be turned into gorgeous storage possibilities!

I could blabber on all evening so please tell me what you all think of this news. Were you a B fan? Not really? Had a favourite product? Whatever it is feel free to leave a comment below. Also, some of you may be wondering if I'll still post up my remaining B swatches and the answer is yes...but a lot quicker than I did the previous batch! I promise these will be my priority in the next few weeks on here so look out for those soon.

  2. Ahhh yeah bad timing! It is very, very sad indeed :(. A shock too actually as they've just opened up shops in Japan and they seemed to love it. What area of B did you want to work in?

Oh and you're very welcome! Btw, may I just ask how you found this entry? It's just blogspot is being weird with me and it's not showing up on my reading list or dashboard!

    Thanks for stopping by. :)

  3. I know, I thought they were on a roll : ( It's such a shame!

I wanted to work at the Covent Garden branch, but I'm still considering trying my hand at my local Lush - the people there always seem so lovely and I love all their products, philosophy, branding, etc.!! : D

I was already on your blog checking out your latest posts, I was literally about to then message you when I found the answer to my question : (

It's appearing on your main blog page but not in my reading list either... Weird. It might sort itself out tomorrow, sometimes there's a delay. Or you could always copy, paste into MS Word, delete the post and repost?? See if that works!

  6. @ Amanda- Don't worry, technical problems fixed! I'm very new to this, haha. That's great that you want to work at LUSH! I also worked for them for a long time so if you want any advice etc then feel free to ask.

@ Daisy- I know it's so cruel, taking all the prettiness away! Loving your blog btw, let me know what you get from B!
