Product on Trial: OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener

opi nails envy nails strengther Oooh I nearly had a post everyday for September. Trust me to go and break it already! This is just a super quick post to say that I am going to be putting a product on trial- OPI's Nail Envy. I've had this product for quite a while now but I've shamefully never used it properly. So now, as the weather gets even colder and my nails start to weaken I thought it was about time too! I've taken the risk of posting the original state of my nails which you can see in the photo on the left. As you can see some are better than others. They are naturally very strong and do grow to quite a length but endlessly get damaged and caught, and I had to keep them short due to strict music teachers! I've applied two coats of Nail Envy, and every other day will apply another coat. The idea is that in a couple of weeks they will become a lot stronger and less prone to breakage...I hope!

I'd be really interested to hear your opinion on nail strengthening treatments. Do you use one? If so, do you think it is any good? I've heard they do Nail Envy in a coloured form which would be so perfect for me as I hate having naked nails. Well, fingers crossed (ha!) that this product works the miracles that people have suggested. I will be sure to report back :).

  1. I use Life Jacket by Jessica. You can't really wear it on its own, and it can be quite difficult to apply it smoothly, but it's amazing. I never would have bought it but I had a manicure once and the manicurist used it - it made the polish last an entire week before any chips appeared, and my nails looked so healthy and grew longer even after it had come off.

Hope the Nail Envy works out well.

  3. I hate my nails. Do you have any recommendations on how to apply nail varish properly, and is it worth investing in a base coat, top coat and non chip nail varnish? looking forward to seeing what you think of nail envy.

  4. Hey Imogen! I personally think a base coat and top coat is essential. If you like bright or dark colours like me, then over time, without a base you could find nails become prone to discolouration. A top coat seals all your hard work in, and that's what will help make your polish last longer. Invest in these and then you could go with any coloured polish. I love both high end and low end, there's no difference! As an example Barry M (roughly £2.95) works just as well as OPI (roughly £10)in my opinion. Hope that helps :)

  5. I useto love this product. But I feel like for me it only works if I reapply almost everyday. But my nails did get stronger and longer when wearing it!

  6. Funny you say that Sara, because I've actually just started to apply it every day instead of every other day and it works so much better!
